This Tuesday, April 17, rally driver Diogo Gago received a vote of praise from the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel «for the commitment and victory, this year, in the Rally dos Açores, whose result points to the Championship of the Rally Europe'.

«It is a pride for São Brás de Alportel and for this city council to have well classified athletes in national and international competitions, raising to a high level the dedication and commitment to the sporting cause», reads the vote of praise approved unanimously at a meeting of Chamber held on April 3rd.

Born in São Brás de Alportel, Diogo Gago is 26 years old and, according to the local authority, "is recognized as a young promise and one of the safest values ​​in the panorama of national rallies". The driver has in his curriculum «with several victories since 2012, when he was crowned National Junior Rally Champion and National Open Rally Champion 2 Rodas Motrizes».

In 2015, he participated in the European Rally Championship, as a prize for the victory achieved in 2014 in the Peugeot 208 Rally Cup Junior Championship.

This year, Diogo Gago participated and won the Rally dos Açores together with Miguel Ramalho, part of the Mcoutinho Racing team. Your
performance convinced in the European Rally Champioship 3, reserved for two-wheel drive and whose result points to the European Rally Championship.

«The vote of praise recognizes the work, dedication and commitment of the driver and the rest of the team, and is extended to the family and employees of the Mcoutinho Racing team who contributed to the victory achieved», concludes the City Council of São Brás de Alportel.
