The Algarve Jazz Gourmet Moments Festival, which will combine gourmet cuisine with the "best of jazz", will take place in Lagos between 25 and 27 May.

The main concerts of the festival are scheduled for the Centro Cultural de Lagos, always at 21 pm, and begin with the first performance in the Algarve of «two unavoidable names of world jazz: the Norwegian singer Silje Nergaard and the American saxophonist Rick Margitza who, with the Algarve Jazz Orchestra (OJA), promise to provide a unique show, purposefully conceived for this festival and made up of complicity», says the organization, in charge of OJA.

On Saturday, the 26th, the eclectic rhythms of the Spanish Flamenco Jazz Company will come on stage in the voice of Antonio Ingueta “Rubio”. This band, «composed by a collective of great musicians, is famous for its vibrant compositions that excel in the fusions of Jazz and Flamenco. On stage, and accompanied by the renowned dancer Pol Vaquero, they will create a warm concert full of moments of pure energy», explains the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve.

Finally, on Sunday the 27th, and to close the festival with a “golden key”, also making an absolute debut in the Algarve, the “meteoric and latest world jazz star, the Australian Sarah Mackenzie, who brings us her latest album Paris in the Rain in a concert that forms part of their world tour».

Allied to music will be gastronomy. Between the 18th and 27th of May, Jazz Gourmet Menus can be tasted, specially designed for the event by the partner restaurants in Lagos and available from €20 per person, always with Algarve wine included.

«The best thing would be to accompany these magnificent delicacies to the sound of live jazz in the various Jazz Sessions that will be held throughout this period», suggests the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve.

The organization reveals, as an example, the menu that will be presented by the Páteo Velho Restaurant, of the recently renovated Hotel Tivoli Lagos, which is paired with a glass of red wine Quinta do Barranco Longo.

This proposal will have, as a starter, “Our Coriander Açorda with Cod Chips”, as a main dish, Duck Breast with Root Puree and Honey Crumble and, as dessert, Fig Fondant, Orange Sorbet and Macerated Fruits in Medronho».
