A documentary photography workshop, given by Elisabete Maisão, takes place from 27 to 29 April, at CAPa (Center for Performing Arts of the Algarve), in Faro.

In this workshop, works by relevant authors in the field of documentary photography will be analyzed. You will also learn how to develop your own projects.

In addition to the photographic technique and aesthetics, the logistics of fieldwork will be explored, prior research on the local culture, ethical aspects in approaching strangers that one intends to photograph and the social responsibility and imagetic respect of those involved in the image.

In terms of photographic devices, the workshop will explain how to select the appropriate device for each photographic identity and how to organize a personal portfolio and means to use for dissemination
of the works produced.

According to their interests, each student will be encouraged to develop a personal project that will then be analyzed.
