Anyone who wants to discover the alchemy secrets of the distillation of medronho brandy can participate, on the 28th of April, in the second workshop on the subject, promoted by Casa do Medronho, from Marmelete, in the Serra de Monchique.
The objective of the action is to make a «practical demonstration of the medronho distillation process», which will start at 10:00 am and end around 14:00 pm.
The task will not be easy: «those interested will be able to actively participate in the entire distillation process, as well as carry out various tastings of medronho, melosa and gastronomic products of the municipality».
This workshop, explains the Parish Council of Marmelete, responsible for the House of Medronho, «it does not have a theoretical character, as studies on arbutus will not be discussed». Rather, it will be a practical session, for «transmission of knowledge and knowledge, in a familiar and informal way, of this ancestral and traditional art of our municipality».
