The book “Manuel Teixeira Gomes: Biography”, by José Alberto Quaresma, will be presented at the Municipal Library of Lagoa, on April 20th, at 18 pm, by Cristina Robalo-Cordeiro and José Águas da Cruz.
This biography of Manuel Teixeira Gomes, which reveals a fascinating man and his time, was the result of eight years of research work by José Alberto Quaresma, from Portimo.
In its 632 pages and 1700 footnotes, it reveals little-known stories and facets of the former president of the Republic, born in Portimão, where his family tree is not lacking, such as the Sul Informação revealed first-hand, even before the work was published.
The official launch of the book, an edition of the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic and of the National Press - Mint, took place on 18 October 2016, the date on which the 75th anniversary of the death of Manuel Teixeira Gomes was celebrated.
