Ana Aranha and Carlos Ademar will talk about the book “No Limite da Dor”, written by both of them, in a conversation scheduled for next Friday, April 13, at 18:00, at the Álvaro de Campos Municipal Library, in Tavira.

Based on Antena 1's homonymous program, “On the edge of pain”, this work is a tribute to the courage of all fighters, humiliated and tortured, whose body and soul were reduced to their most primal expression, victims of the barbarity of the police in Salazar.

The book contains unpublished testimonies from former political prisoners, such as Fernando Rosas, Edmundo Pedro, Conceição Matos, Helena Pato, Joaquim Monteiro Matias, José Pedro Soares, Justino Pinto de Andrade or Luís Moita, among many others.

44 years later after the 25th of April, former political prisoners speak of their passage through the Estado Novo jails. In an exercise that is often painful, they rescue a violent past from the depths of their memories, which translates into intense testimonies, bitter or calm, resentful or pardoned.
