Portimão will once again host Algarsafe – International Civil Protection and Relief Fair between the 24th and 26th of May, at Portimão Arena and at the Fair and Exhibition Park.

What is the largest fair of its kind to take place in Sul do Tejo «intends to be a multidisciplinary space, with a wide commercial and institutional offer in the area of ​​safety (safety & security), offering visitors a global and integrated perspective of this important strategic aspect of the country”, according to the Chamber of Portimão.

The municipality, which organizes the event in partnership with the Fire Department of Portimão, highlights, from this edition's program, «the special and innovative action of using drones in security and civil protection missions, which will bring national and international reference speakers to Portimão , which will compare consolidated Portuguese experiences with those of other countries, such as Italy and Denmark».

Algarsafe 2018 «already has a hundred confirmed public and private entities, including providers and suppliers of goods and services in the area of ​​security and civil protection, as well as civil protection agents and cooperating entities of the integrated system of protection and operations national level relief», according to the Portimão Council.

The space inside the doors, with about 4 thousand square meters, is, moreover, "completely commercialized", stressed the municipality.

Abroad, where there will be an exhibition area of ​​8 thousand square meters, «there will be practical demonstrations of vehicles and civil protection and rescue equipment, exercises and workshops for operational, public awareness and information actions, static display of means and resources of Civil Protection agents and a breastplate capabilities of forces and services'.

These are just some of the «numerous activities, initiatives and sessions of a pedagogical and awareness-raising nature scheduled».

The event, from which the Sul Informação is media partner, has institutional partners of national reference, including the National Civil Protection Authority, the Portuguese Firefighters League, APSEI – Portuguese Safety Association, the National Firefighters School and Safe Communities Portugal.
