Albufeira Town Council was present at the Salon Mondial du Tourisme, in Paris, from 15 to 18 March, to carry out a direct promotional action with a market that already occupies the 5th position in terms of passengers transported to and from the Airport of Faro.

The municipality of Albufeirense took advantage of his trip to the capital of France to participate in the Congress of Civica, the association of mayors of Portuguese origin in that country, on March 19, in what was, according to the Council of Albufeira, «a congress of emotions, with several testimonies about Carlos Silva e Sousa, the mayor of Albufeira who recently left us».

A few days after the death of the mayor from Albufeirense, Paulo Marques, president of Cívica, spoke with the South Informationoe defended that Carlos Silva e Sousa was a "visionary" mayor when strengthening relations with France.

The French mayor of Portuguese origin was keen to recall that «for two years now, President Carlos Silva e Sousa had a very active intervention with the mayors (French and Portuguese) of Greater Paris and with these 1.260 municipalities in the Paris region».

On March 19, Paulo Marques «talked about this path that has brought Albufeira closer to this association, through multiple contacts and actions and taking advantage of the synergies created with mayors of Portuguese descent who exercise functions there», according to the City Council of Albufeira.

«Paulo Marques highlighted the political and human qualities of Carlos Silva e Sousa, recalling this short but remarkable relationship. Other participants in the Congress made a point of leaving a word of solidarity with the mayor's family and the entire population of Albufeira in general.
