São Brás de Alportel will host 19 exhibitions, in three cultural spaces in the municipality, throughout 2018. By the end of the year, works created by artists from the Algarve or residents of the Algarve will be shown.

Exhibitions of collections, photography, painting, artwork, tapestry, pottery and woodwork are planned, which can be seen at the Municipal Gallery, at the Arts and Crafts Center or at the Alportel Museum.

«Each exhibition shows different perspectives, views and sensibilities about the region, its natural resources, its landscapes and its daily life», framed the City Council of São Brás de Alportel.

At the Municipal Gallery, the photography exhibition “Signs of Life”, by Peter de Jong, is on display until March 26, «where a different look is presented on the inscriptions that were placed in houses in the municipalities of São Brás de Alportel, Loulé and Tavira during the digital land registration process». On March 28, the exhibition “Tochas”, by the Algarve photographer Vasco Célio, will be inaugurated in the same space.

At the Arts and Crafts Centre, you can visit the exhibition of painting, tapestry and mixed technique “Relíquias do Sotavento” by the Algarve Mental Health Association, which is inspired by elements alluding to the historical and natural heritage of the Eastern Algarve.

Also on display, in this case at the Alportel Museum, is the exhibition “Proverbios Ilustrados”, “an exhibition with works by the artist Ana Paula Nunes, which set out to illustrate Portuguese proverbial expressions that convey an ancestral, cultural and Portuguese identity wisdom”.

Visiting the exhibitions at the Municipal Gallery, the Arts and Crafts Center and the Alportel Museum Center is free.
