The Algarve duo Ricardo Teodósio and José Teixeira were in evidence in the competition that opened the European Rally Championship, which ended yesterday, March 24, in the Azores, when they achieved 9th place overall.

At the wheel of a Skoda Fabia R5, the pair leaves the island of São Miguel with a result that puts them in a good position in the Portuguese Rally Championship (CPR).

Ricardo Teodósio came to sign a 2nd and 3rd time in the general ranking, a few tenths of a second behind the winners, which clearly shows the team's adaptation to the car.

«It could always be better», joked Ricardo Teodósio, a driver from Albufeira. "The car had some problems on the last day, which prevented us from moving up a few more places in the classification, although I can only be satisfied with the result achieved", said the driver who, in addition to the 3rd place among the drivers who score for the CPR , finished in 9th place overall, but just 41 seconds from 6th place.

«I felt that it was not impossible to have climbed a few more places, although this is not really important, due to the excellent classification I achieved for the Portuguese championship. I'm very satisfied with the work the whole team has done, in a race that I've always enjoyed, and where this year I managed to achieve a very positive result and an excellent connection to the car. Now I just want to think about the Mortágua Rally», he added.

A key player in this team was José Teixeira. For him, the result “could have been better… but frankly, I think it was very positive. With slippery floors, conditioned by the tires and with technical problems in the differential, we ended up finishing the race in a close-up».

“It was a very positive result for the championship, and exceptional for ARC Sport, which managed to reach the three podium places for the Portuguese Rally Championship. We are more and more adapted to Skoda, as they bought second and third places in general, which we managed to register in two sections. We left the Azores with more confidence to face the remaining competitions of the championship», he concluded.
