A 53-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were sentenced to 20 and 18 years in prison, respectively, for the murder of an 85-year-old elderly man, in the early morning of February 7, 2017, in Guia, and also for the crime of aggravated theft .
The collective court of the central criminal court of Portimão gave as proven that the two defendants broke down the door of the victim's house, "with whom the defendant had a relationship for several years" and, "once inside the house, they assaulted the victim, they tied his hands and feet and ended up strangling him to death».
After the attack, the defendants took amounts that belonged to the elderly, namely money that, according to the court, "they shared between them".
