There are four aquatic poems that take elements from the ocean into a pool. There are big storms, shipwrecks and movements imitating fish. “Mar Adentro”, the aquatic theater show that goes through Aljezur and Monchique, offers spectators thoughts and ideas about the relationship between the body and water.
The new production of "Plowing the Sea", a program that has the support of the "365Algarve", premiered yesterday, March 29, at the Municipal Swimming Pools of Aljezur, but on Wednesday it was the day of the dress rehearsal, open to guests, and the Sul Informação did not miss the call.
In this show, over about two hours, the spectators, equipped with slippers and swimming trunks, are transported to a sensation of the ocean, while the approximately 20 interpreters are in the water.
Everything is accompanied by matching music and one of the highlights is when the Aljezur International Choir enters the scene. At some point, the swimming pool seems almost to be transformed into an opera house.
“Instead of using the four swimming styles, we invented new ways to hold on in the water. Through them, we created new ways to swim and to launch thoughts and ideas to the public about the relationship between the body and water», he explains to the Sul Informação, choreographer Madalena Victorino, one of those responsible for producing “Mar Adentro”, together with Remi Gallet.
But “Mar Adentro” couldn't end… without anyone watching going to the water. In the end, anyone who wants to can enter the pool to share that stage at least different.
The light, which illuminates the water, and the video, which is displayed on the screen of the pools, with the Castle of Aljezur as a backdrop, is another important element of a show for which there are only tickets for the last session in Aljezur, on Easter Sunday, April 1st, from 21 pm.
