The 8th edition of the International Festival of Poetry and Art “Grito de Mulher” is scheduled for next Saturday, March 24, from 10:00 am, at Casa do Sal, in Castro Marim. The event will feature several artistic moments alluding to the Festival's annual theme: mothers as pillars of society and guides of a new generation committed to a life without violence.

The Chamber of Castro Marim explains that ““Grito de Mujer” is a poetic-artistic festival organized by the MPI (Movimento Mujeres Poetas Internacional), born in the Dominican Republic by writer Jael Uribe, which consists of a chain of simultaneous events in several countries during the month of March, in honor of women and against violence».

“Por ti Mujer, Uniendo Fronteras” “is the motto of this action at Casa do Sal, in a symbiosis with the cultural characteristics of this cross-border territory”.

«The MPI launched the challenge to some women from Baixo Guadiana to actively participate in the project and integrate the publication that will result from this edition, with the same challenge open to all interested», adds the municipality.

In addition to the poetry declamation, the festival has some musical moments, in the voices of Carla Sabino, Angela Mascarenhas, Natalino Martins, Nádia Catarro and also the participation of “Musica do Mundo de Mulheres” and the Associación FRONTEiRAS.

This is an initiative of the Mujeres Poetas International Movement and the Municipality of Castro Marim and has the support of several volunteer collaborators.
