The maritime bars of Lagos, Alvor, Albufeira, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António are today closed to navigation, in the Algarve, and another, that of Faro/Olhão, is conditioned due to the forecast of strong maritime agitation, according to the Portuguese Navy.

the bar of Faro/Olhão is closed only to vessels with a length of less than 10 meters.

According to information available on the Navy's website, another 12 bars on the rest of the coast of mainland Portugal are still closed to navigation: Caminha, Vila Praia de Âncora, Viana do Castelo, Esposende, Póvoa de Varzim, Vila do Conde, Douro, Aveiro, Figueira da Foz, São Martinho do Porto, Peniche and Ericeira.

The maritime bars of Sesimbra and Setúbal are conditioned to vessels of less than 11 meters in length.

After having been under Orange Warning until 9:00 am this Monday, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has now placed the coastline on yellow warning, forecasting waves from the northwest of 4 to 5 meters, on the West Coast.

In the Su region, skies are expected with periods of great cloudiness and with the occurrence of light and infrequent showers in the Alentejo until early morning.

From the end of the afternoon onwards, the sky will again become very cloudy and there will be periods of light rain or drizzle, which are unlikely in Alto Alentejo.

The IPMA also predicts light to moderate wind from the west quadrant, blowing temporarily strong in the highlands until early morning and late in the day, turning to the south quadrant in the afternoon and the possibility of occurrence of fog or morning fog in some locations.

The minimum temperatures will vary between 2 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 10 (in Lisbon) and the maximum between 9 (in Guarda) and 17 (Santarém and Faro).
