Applications for the “Algarve Design Awards – 2018” are open until the 30th of April. This competition is aimed at those responsible for professional projects in three areas of design (communication, interiors and product), carried out and implemented in the Algarve during 2017.
The award, created by the National Association of Designers (AND) and the City Council of Faro, aims to «distinguish the best examples of quality design, as well as investment in innovation and research in this area in the Algarve region, will recognize and disseminate the best examples of design implemented in the region in the areas of communication, product and interiors», according to the University of the Algarve.
«For the attribution of these prizes, in the area of communication design, works carried out in the categories of poster, branding, branding, visual identity, communication campaign and signage will be considered. In interior design, work carried out in the categories of design of public spaces and private spaces and, in the area of product design, work carried out in the categories of product/industrial design», added UAlg.
The final decision will be made public at the closing of the 8th Algarve Design Meeting, an international event organized by the School of Education and Communication of the University of Algarve, which takes place from 22 to 26 May, at Fábrica da Cerveja, in Faro. The winner of each design area will receive a prize worth 1500 euros.
