Tourism professionals got to know the "riches" of Faro

The 7th edition of the training “The Tourist Potential of Faro”, which ended on the 20th of February, showed, to tourism professionals, “a set of information about the richness of the county that can make a difference to tourists and investors”. 

 

This training "gave tools for technicians in the area of ​​tourism, as being better informed and clear about the main tourist resources and products, they will be more qualified professionals to present and enhance the municipality", says the Chamber of Faro.

About twenty trainees participated in this edition, professionals from different areas of tourism, who had the opportunity to visit various places and learn more about our historical and cultural heritage.

Participants saw new perspectives and views of Vila Adentro, enjoyed from the top of the farol from Ilha da Culatra, the design of the barrier islands and the Ria Formosa, they visited the backstage of Teatro das Figuras and, at Praia de Faro, got to know the sporting activities available at the Nautical Center.

In the village of Estoi, they came into contact with different eras, from the Romans to the Arabs, and visited the palaces from the time of the monarchy. They also visited the Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve, right next to the Ria Formosa and the Capela dos Ossos in the Igreja do Carmo.

At the end of the program, the registered professionals also had the opportunity to learn from the chefs from the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School, preparing a traditional Algarve meal.

The training, promoted by the Chamber of Faro and by the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School, it was closed on stage at Teatro Lethes.

Over the seven editions already organized, around 140 trainees were present, who, with the support of all collaborating entities, enriched their knowledge about the tourist potential of Faro, “thus improving their skills in welcoming and advising tourists”.
