The book “Niko Panduru and the special mission”, by Paula Marinho, is presented next Saturday, February 24, at 15:30 pm, at the Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen Municipal Library, in Loulé. 

“Niko Panduru and the Special Mission” narrates a childhood story lived by a boy in a preschool context.

The «character in this book shows a boy full of life and enthusiasm, with a huge heart, whose very special mission is to make children who have no toys smile, offering them something special», says Câmara de Loulé.

In addition to the pedagogical and educational aspect, the work “appeals to noble values ​​such as solidarity and hope, filling the world of the smallest with dreams, feelings, imagination and colors”.

Paula Marinho was born on June 11, 1971, in Luanda, at an early age witnessing the scourges of a Colonial War that, in a way, marked her throughout her life. She has a degree in Applied Social Research, having always been concerned with social, educational and human issues.

Since May 1998, she has been a member of the Technical Team of the Casa da Primeira Infância, having for many years played the role of Coordinator in various community projects in the municipality of Loulé. Since May 2012 she has held the role of technical director, especially in the social responses of Nursery, Pre-School and Temporary Shelter “Os Miúdos”, debating for the well-being and rights of children and young people.

The presentation of the work is in charge of the educator Ivone Silva, in what will be another session of the “Open Books”. Admission is free.
