The conferences “Economia do Barlavento Algarvio” take place on the 24th of March, at the Museu de Portimão, after having been postponed due to the death of Carlos Silva e Sousa, mayor of Albufeira.

The Organizing Committee says that "it was aware of the complexity" of postponing the initiative "on the eve of its realization", but it did so "with uncompromising fidelity to the principles and respect for the public work and merits of the deceased".

“It was a decision out of conviction and with humility, expressing in this way our gratitude to all those who, whether or not directly involved in the event, approached us, expressing their understanding and recording the gesture”, he adds.

The initiative will be attended by 26 associations from all sectors, as well as a "high number of participants" among speakers, moderators, members of the Government, deputies, mayors, university professors, senior representatives of national and regional public administration.
