A new “Walk without Garbage” will take place on March 3, at 9:30 am, on the road between Morenaes and Santana de Cambas, in Mértola.

"The initiative aims to involve the local community in promoting a cleaner and garbage-free territory, particularly non-organic waste (plastic, paper, glass) that accumulates on the sides of roads and paths in the county", says the Mértola Chamber, which organizes the initiative.

This activity will start at 9:00 am, with a bus departing from Mértola towards Santana de Camba to collect volunteers. Then, the volunteers will walk the road between Moreanes (next to the new well) and the village of Santana de Cambas. Return to the county seat is scheduled for 13:00.

Interested parties must register by the 1st of March at the Municipality of Mértola, by email [email protected] or helena [email protected], at the Parish Councils of Mértola and Santana de Cambas or here

The walk has the collaboration of the Parish Councils of Mértola and Santana de Cambas, Resialentejo and the Natural Park of Vale do Guadiana.

The first two Walks without Garbage, which took place on the 20th of January and the 17th of February, had the participation of 64 volunteers.
