The Algarve Tourism Region (RTA) pursues its promotion strategy, being present in March at the main fairs nationwide, with the aim of promoting the region and its tourism offer, but also asserting its active role in the protection and enhancement of its natural resources, with tourists and local residents.

It is next week that the Algarve will once again be present on the Lisbon Tourism Exchange (BTL) to present the region's main tourist attractions to visitors, with great emphasis on Nature Tourism, Active and Sport Tourism, Gastronomy and Wines and Cultural Tourism.

From February 28th to March 4th, the tourism entity will be in Pavilion 1 of FIL with a new promotional stand, where the 16 municipalities of the region and 20 hotels and tour operators will be represented.

Meanwhile, from 1st to 2nd March, RTA participates in the “Water Challenges” meeting, at the Palácio de Congressos do Algarve, at Herdade dos Salgados, in Albufeira.

Organized by Águas do Algarve (AdA), the initiative aims to promote debate and information sharing on the topic of efficient and sustainable management of water resources and ecosystems.

RTA will be represented in the exhibition area with its own stand, where it will distribute informational materials such as guides, maps, promotional leaflets and show the role of tourism in protecting natural ecosystems.

For the president of RTA Desidério Silva, «water is also a strategic asset for tourism and at a time when drought and lack of water are imminent in many areas of the country, it is essential that we are all aware and act with a view to preservation of this very important resource”.

On the 10th and 11th of March, the Algarve will travel to Mundo Abreu 2018 – Summer Travel, which will take place in Pavilion 4 of FIL, in Lisbon.

The largest national fair for the advance sale of trips aimed at the public is the ideal occasion for the Algarve to present its summer offer, which includes proposals for Sun and Sea, Active Tourism and Nature Tourism, as well as cultural and health programmes. and well-being and gastronomic.

This year, the Algarve will have a stand of 18 square meters, where it will be possible to obtain tourist information, guides, maps and gifts from the region.

«The Algarve continues to be the Portuguese preferred national destination for summer holidays. National tourists are attracted by the beauty and quality of the beaches, the richness of the gastronomy, the stunning landscapes, the excellent hotel offer and the animation proposals in the region. In 2017, the Algarve registered a 3,7% increase in national overnight stays compared to the previous year, and we believe that participating in fairs such as Mundo Abreu is a unique opportunity for us to boost our growth», says Desidério Silva.
