University of Algarve organizes international workshop on innovation and applied research

The University of Algarve is promoting until Friday, January 19th, the international workshop “Innovation, applied research in renewable energy and relationships with SMEs”, which takes place at the José Silvestre Amphitheater, at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia (ISE), at the Penha Campus of the University of Algarve (UAlg), in Faro. 

The workshop on “innovation, applied research in renewable energy and relations with SMEs” will be the last training organized under the European project “Eneplan – Developing skills in the field of integrated energy planning in Med Landscapes”, financed by the “Erasmus+” program .

«The workshop will feature communications from the companies Rolear and Intelmatis and also from the Areal agency, as good practices in the Algarve, related to the theme of workshop' in the area of ​​renewable energies, explains the University of Algarve.

As usual in workshops “Eneplan”, all partner institutions will present case studies on the theme of training, so that, together, they can acquire a broader knowledge of the current state of energy planning in the partner countries.

The use of free educational software will also continue – the Concept Maps tool (Conceptual Maps or Cmaps) – applied to the project's theme and used in the “Eneplan” workshops.

This project is funded by the European Union under the “Erasmus+” (Community Program 2014-2020).

In addition to the University of Algarve, the project partnership is made up of universities, research centers and energy agencies, namely: UNIROMA3 – Universita degli Studi Roma Tre (lead partner), Degli Studi University of Siena (Siena, Italy), University of Camerino Studies (Ascoli Piceno, Italy), MIEMA – Malta Intelligent Energy Management Agency Malta (La Valletta, Malta), Pablo de Olavide University (Seville, Spain), American University of Beirut (Beirut, Libya) and lebanese university (Beirut, Libya).

These are joined by ALMEE – The Lebanese Association for Energy Saving and for the Environment (Beirut, Libya), MEDGREEN, Jdeidet et al. (Beirut, Libya), Zewail City of Science and Technology (Giza, Egypt), Ain Shams University, Faculty of Engineering (Cairo, Egypt), Jordan University of Science and Technology (Irbid, Jordan), Al-Balqa' Applied University (Salt, Jordan), Princess Sumaya University for Technology (Amman, Jordan), University of Jordan (Amman, Jordan), Petra Education Company (Amman, Jordan) and the Royal Scientific Society (Amman, Jordan).
