The fire that broke out this Saturday afternoon, in Ludo, was dominated by firefighters overnight. The flames consumed sugarcane and weeds, «on the edge of the urbanized zone» of Quinta do Lago, but not threatened homes.
At the site, this Sunday morning, in the aftermath operations, there are 15 operational supported by seven vehicles, according to the Civil Protection.
The fire, which started before 17:00, will have started in a burning that got out of control. The strong wind and difficult access made it difficult to fight the flames, according to Carlos Carmo, councilor of the Loulé Chamber, to the Sul Informação.
In the fight against the flames, there were 50 operatives and 17 terrestrial means of fire brigades from Loulé, Faro, São Brás de Alportel, Olhão, Tavira and Albufeira.
