The fire that today, at 12:42 pm, affected the Mistral Restaurant, in Praia da Rocha, was promptly fought by the Fire Department and did not cause any damage.

Richard Marques, commander of the Fire Department of Portimão, told the Sul Informação that the means arrived at the scene at 12:50 pm, that is, barely eight minutes after the alert, having «located the fire in the restaurant's exhaust system», located in the Gaivota-Mar Building, next to V3.

The focus was located on top of the exhaust system, on the 12th and last floor of the building, having been completely subdued «at 13:05 pm».

«There was no major damage, only in the restaurant's exhaust pipe», which is mainly dedicated to charcoal grills.

Bearing in mind that it was a "high-rise building, in a risk zone", Richard Marques added that "many resources" were immediately dispatched to the site: nine vehicles and 18 operational, Firefighters, Municipal Civil Protection and PSP.
