390 confirmed registrations, from all over the country and abroad, with the number of exhibitors already sold out. The “Water Challenges” meeting it will only take place in a little over a month (March 1 and 2), at Herdade dos Salgados, in Albufeira, but it is already «exceeding all expectations». Filipe Duarte Santos, Francisco Ferreira and Joaquim Peres are some of the speakers who will be present.

In statements to the Sul Informação, Teresa Fernandes, responsible for Communication and Environmental Education at Águas do Algarve, said that there is an expectation of «reaching 500 entries».

This is because there is still time until the days of this meeting and the names of the speakers have only just begun to be revealed.

In addition to Filipe Duarte Santos, the main Portuguese expert in the area of ​​climate change, Francisco Ferreira, president of the environmentalist association ZERO, and Joaquim Peres, president of the Board of Directors of Águas do Algarve, this meeting will also include the presence of Marcos d ´Avila Bensoussan, chemical engineer, specialist in legionella.

In total, 100 exhibitors will be involved in this initiative, including companies and demonstrations of all Águas do Algarve activities.

As for the competition for schools, which will even have a meteorological station as a prize, so that students can use it during Science or Geography classes, it also has "some applications", said Teresa Fernandes to our newspaper.

This meeting, which is the first of its kind to be organized by a company from the Águas de Portugal group, will show what the urban water cycle is or what will need to change to adapt to climate change.

And as the objective is to reach all audiences, there will be both technical sessions and lectures, as well as 20 workshops where young people and adults can see, for example, how water is captured, in an interactive way.
