The blood collection action “Together we help more (+)” takes place on December 20, from 9:30 am to 13:00 pm, in the building of the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters in Silves.
On that day, free screenings will be carried out by the Volunteer Fire Department, namely measurement of the glycemic index, measurement of blood pressure and measurement of cholesterol.
The action, which is promoted annually, "has as its main objective to sensitize the community to the need to reinforce the blood reserves in our hospitals and appeal to the spirit of solidarity of young people regarding the importance of blood donation", says the Chamber of Silves.
This initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Silves in partnership with the AHBVS, the Association of Blood Donors of the Barlavento Algarvio (ADSBA), University Hospital Center of the Algarve and the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation.
For logistical reasons, pre-registration must be made with the Youth sector of the Municipality of Silves (282 440 800), the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Silves (282 445 452) or ADSBA (282 417 295 or 965 743 784 ).
