The show by Pedro and his campaniça viola “Folklore de Natal, Janeiras e Reis” takes place on January 5th, at 21 pm, at Cineteatro Camacho Costa, in Odemira,

This concert presents the traditional Alentejo songs that were heard in Alentejo villages and towns when, under cover of night, groups of men and women went out to sing, celebrating Christmas, New Year's Eve and the Kings.

«In this context, Pedro Mestre presents a concert of excellence that evokes the Cante ao Menino, Janeiras e Reis, in which the Cante a Vozes and Viola Campaniça are protagonists. This concert has the participation of several guest musicians and artists», says the Chamber of Odemira.

On stage will be Pedro Mestre (vocals and viola campaniça), David Pereira (vocals), José Bento (vocals), Pedro Calado (vocals), José David (piano), Nuno Fernandes (bass guitar and double bass) and Catarina Anacleto (cello) .

As a special guest, Grupo Coral de Odemira will open the show. Founded in 1977, it has maintained the tradition of Alentejo singing and fashions, some inherited from the former group “Rouxinóis do Mira” dating back to 1944, and emblematically represents the culture and tradition of Cante Alentejano in the municipality of Odemira.
