Aerial acrobatics, accompanied by music that seems to “dialogue with the movements” that are being made. “Klaxon” is the name of the new circus show that will pass through Monchique from December 28th to January 1st. On New Year's Eve there is a special session with arbutus, pan cake and donut to enter 2018 in the best possible way.

“Lavrar o Mar” also took a new circus to Monchique last year, but this edition “is different”. Who says so is Giacomo Scalisi, one of those responsible for this programming.

“Last year was more about bicycles and bicycle choreographies. This year, the aerial part is explored more”, he explained, in a conversation with the Sul Informação.

In the tent, at Heliporto de Monchique, there will be six acrobats and four musicians who will make this «strong link between musical drama and circus». Basically, what everyone will be able to watch is a “story that dialogues a lot with music and acrobatics”.

"There are a number of surprises and it will be possible to see how traditional circus acts can transform," said the cultural programmer enthusiastically.

The company “Akoreacro” has a technique “that comes from the traditional circus”. «They are connected to the traditional circus world, with great technical rigor, reaching a great level of creativity», he explained.

Thus, for Giacomo, “interesting and surprising” proposals arise.

And no less interesting is the New Year's Eve proposal.

On the outside of the tent, after the show, which is part of “365Algarve”, there will be a large bonfire to heat the entrance in 2018.

«The musicians will play and we will thus spend New Year's Eve outdoors».

To warm the stomach, there will be donuts, pancakes, arbutus, sack coffee, champagne, skewered pork, but also vegetarian options.

This show in Monchique will be special for yet another reason.

Is that "Klaxon" is on the road for four years and this performance in the Algarve will mark the end of the tour.

For all these reasons, Giacomo Scalisi's expectations are the best. "We want a full house in all shows and provide a beautiful night for everyone."

The sale "is going well", but "there are still many tickets to go", he says. So there's still time to go to the new circus. Tickets cost 7 euros for adults and 5 euros for children, and can be purchased here.

The shows are on the 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st, at 21 pm, and on January 00st at 1 pm.
