The origin of the Ossónoba Choir dates back to 1980, at the time composed of a group of choral music enthusiasts led by Canon José Pedro Martins.

«In its memorable journey, the Choir Festival of Faro, the City of International Choir Festival Faro and the annual concerts held in Spain, Brazil, France and Switzerland, which projected the Coral Ossónoba around the world. It should also be remembered that he traveled to Ceuta in 2015 to participate in the official Commemorations of the Conquest of Ceuta by El-Rei D. João I of Portugal», says the Chamber of Faro.

In 1995, the children's choir “Pequenos Cantores d'Ossónoba” was created, by the hand of conductor António de Jesus, in response to requests from children of members of the Choir Ossónoba who also wanted to sing in a group. This group has participated in several concerts across the region and across the country. In 2007 he was part of the Coro do S. Carlos in the presentation of the work Carmina Burana.

This choir has also participated several times in Promenade concerts with Orquestra do Algarve and in 2013 began its participation in “Sonho da Música”.

This was followed by the formation of “Ossónoba Coro Juvenil”, in 2002, as a female group, with interpreters coming from the children's choir, while the male voices joined the Coral Ossónoba. Before becoming a mixed choir, in 2005, with an official presentation at the Apertura de Faro- National Capital of Culture, the female group participated in several choir meetings and Christmas concerts.

It currently consists of about 20 young people between 14 and 19 years old who have participated in various events such as the Musical Solstice, Dream of Music and Chorus Fest, and are also requested to participate in Christmas concerts.

«In 2015 he participated in several festivals and performed in 25 high-level concerts, in Italy, in the region of Basilicata».

The most recent group of the Coral Ossónoba was formed in 2016, under the name “Mini Cantores d'Ossónoba”, having had its debut precisely in the Christmas concert that year.
