Tourism Trade Show Algarve

The Algarve Hotel and Tourism School (EHTA), in Faro, hosts, today and tomorrow, the 15th and 16th of November, another edition of the Tourism Trade Show. This event, the only one of its kind in the Algarve, «intends to bring together all agents and entities linked to tourism to share ideas, join efforts, interact and share innovative projects», according to the organization, in charge of EHTA.

The event will feature around six dozen exhibitors, including public and private entities. One of its main components is the promotion of contact between the school community and the labor market. At the “Opportunities” stand, students «have the opportunity to get to know the most important companies operating in the field of tourism and, at the same time, present their curricula and make themselves known in an informal way».

At the same time, a program will be promoted that includes debates, lectures and presentations, workshops, promotion of innovative projects and various tastings.

«Highlights for Street Food actions, Mediterranean Diet, bar demonstrations, chocolate demonstrations and the gastronomic experience 'Noir Mediterrânico'. Creativity is the key element of this showcooking space, in charge of the students of the Hotel and Tourism School», emphasize the organizers of the event.

The aim of these latest initiatives is to enable future professionals to put into practice “the skills acquired over the 3 semesters of training”.

For Dany Ferreira, an EHTA student, this event “is one of the highlights of our journey as students at the School of Hospitality”. Catarina Guerreiro, also from the Tourism course, reinforces the idea and says that “it is a great privilege” for her and her colleagues to have the opportunity to be associated with the event.

«The enthusiasm and dedication of the students in organizing this event, always supported by their trainers, is to be commended. On the other hand, I am pleased to see the growing adhesion of the region's business sector to this initiative, reflecting a strong commitment to the recruitment of qualified human resources and the interest of these economic agents in joining forces and sharing experiences in favor of the quality of Tourism in the Algarve », considered Paula Vicente, director of EHTA.
