“Skills don't have sex – The professions of men and women of the century. XXI” is the theme of the get-together to be held on 20 November, at 17 pm, at the Salão Nobre da Junte de Freguesia, in São Brás de Alportel, marking the International Day of Man.

Guest speakers will share their professional life experiences. Women will explain how the possibility or desire to exercise a profession traditionally associated with the male gender arose, while men will give their testimony of what it is like to exercise a profession traditionally associated with the female gender.

With this initiative, São Brás de Alportel marks the International Day of Man, celebrated since 1999, on the 19th of November.

This is an ephemeris that "intends to promote positive male role models and aims to celebrate positive male contributions to society, promote male health, fully experience parenthood and improve gender relations and combat sexism." says the Chamber of São Brás.

The get-together is open to the general population and has as special guests students from the Secondary School, who are living a moment of reflection on the professional area they want to embrace.

This initiative was promoted by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, under the guidance of the Municipal Councilor for Equality Dora Barradas, with the support of the Parish Council of São Brás de Alportel.
