Odiana invites you to get “hands on”

"Hands on" is the new workshop of creative tourism, to be launched by the Odiana association as early as next December, with Christmas scents.

«Do you like the smell of warm bread first thing in the morning? Don't you dispense with bread at the table? How about making bread with your own hands? Making bread is easy, economical, tasty, and of course, there's nothing like getting your hands dirty! We do not promise to train masters of cooking and pastry, but we guarantee sharing, socializing and tasting», says Odiana.

With the main purpose of promoting the territory's traditional products and associated ancestral knowledge, this workshop which intends to teach and taste «the most traditional delicacy of the Algarve people: bread».

O workshop will take place on December 7th (estimated date), at Casa de Odeleite, in Castro Marim, starting at 9:30 am and ending at 14:00 pm.

This workshop it is paid and open to the general public, subject to a minimum number of entries. Odiana has opened a form for pre-registration that runs until December 2nd here 

The limit of participants to carry out the workshop is eight people. «Once these conditions are met, the participants (in order of registration) will receive e-mail confirmation and NIB for mandatory prior payment of 30 euros».

There being no minimum number of participants, Odiana reserves the right to change the date of the workshop, always in conjunction with interested applicants.

This activity follows on from the “Traditional Knowledge Workshops”, within the scope of the “Creatour” project. The objective is the «tourist revitalization of the traditional activities of the Lower Guadiana, through unique experiences that attract more tourists and involve the local community in the culture of identity of the Lower Guadiana».

In this context, Odiana also held in July and August two workshops of traditional salt pans.

The “Creatour” project aims to pilot a research agenda focused on creative tourism in small towns and rural areas. This is an initiative coordinated by the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra and is financed by the Portugal 2020 Joint Activities Program (PAC).
