Four national records and seven race records. The municipal swimming pools of Vila Real de Santo António (VRSA) hosted, last weekend, the Algarve International Meeting, in swimming, which brought together 347 athletes from Portugal, Spain and Angola, some of which stood out.

Among them is the swimmer Victoria Kaminskaya, from Estrelas de São João de Brito, who broke the national senior and absolute record (and, as such, in the Meeting), in a short pool, 200 meters breaststroke, with the time of 2:25,49.

The same swimmer broke another Meeting record, in the 100-meter butterfly, with a time of 1:00,52.

Another national record that was broken was the 200 meter freestyle, in the junior category. The feat was achieved by Ana Reis Sousa, a 16-year-old athlete from the Clube de Natação do Litoral Alentejano, who set the national junior record in this distance and style at 2:01,86.

Also with regard to national records, the quartet Mariana Cunha, Maria Pereira, Maria Moura and Maria Marques broke the women's national record, in the B youth category, of the 4×100 meters freestyle, with a time of 4:05,09, XNUMX.

In the same category, but in men, the national record was also broken, in this case by the team composed of Tiago Moura Rodrigues, Tomás Nogueira Gomes, Ricardo Lopes Silva and Paulo Vakulyuk (3:41,83).
New records were also set for the meeting by Raul Reyes Gonzalez (50 meters freestyle, Diana Margarida Durães (800 meters freestyle), Lujan Andrea Quesada (50 meters backstroke), Molina Tamara Frias (100 meters backstroke and 200 meters backstroke) and Ruiz Maria Victoria Carrillo (50 meters breaststroke).

The best collective performances in this competition went to the Andalusian Federation with 1133 points, followed by Algés, with 855, and, closing the podium, by CN Mairena Aljarafe, with 854 points.

At the individual level, Diana Durães (SLB) stood out in the 800 meters freestyle (825 points) and João Vital (SCP) in the 400 meters styles (782 points). This was followed by Victoria Kaminskaya (ESJB) in the 200 meters breaststroke (791 points) and Paula Ruiz Bravo (CN Mairena Aljarafe) in the 400 meters freestyle (783 points).

In men, Filipe Miguel Santo (SLB) in the 1500 meters freestyle (770 points) and José Paula Carvalho (SFUAP) in the 1500 meters freestyle (765 points) also stood out.

The IV Algarve International Swimming Meeting was organized by the Algarve Swimming Association.
