The Spoken Word Festival will fill the Gym Club of Faro of songs (spoken), poems and stories, from tomorrow, Friday, and until Sunday. The cultural space in the downtown area of ​​the Algarve capital hosts an event where several artists from the Algarve will be present, but also from outside the region, including the actor André Gago.

Over three days, “a form of art or artistic performance in which the lyrics are spoken instead of sung” will be celebrated, which can take various forms and “lean” on various artistic expressions, such as literature, the arts. plastic arts and music, but always «with a focus on orality», according to the Ginásio Clube de Faro, which organizes the event through its poetry group “Calceteiros de Letras”.

The party starts tomorrow, November 3, with a session in the Algarve, scheduled for 21:45 pm. The show “Língua no Ouvido”, starring the Algarve poet Luís Ene, accompanied by Vasco Prudêncio (keys) and Todd Sheldrick (horn/toy sounds), kicks off the festival.

On the same day, the duo Napoleão Mira and Reflect will perform, with the former providing the voice and the latter ensuring the music.

The program of November 4th, a Saturday, starts at 15 pm with a Stand Up Poetry workshop, promoted by Paulo Condessa, «national reference in creative poetic performance».

At night, from 21:45 pm, Pedro Monteiro (text/voice) and Paulo Strak (music/double bass) will star in the show “Poezia Bruxa”, which will be followed by the performance “Poesia Levada à Letra”, which will be guaranteed by André Gago accompanied by musicians Alex Cortez (bass), Filipe Valentim (piano), Tiago Inuit (guitar) and Luís Bastos (clarinet/saxophone).

The festival ends on Sunday with two performances. From 21:45 pm, the “Calceteiros de Letras” will put on stage the metapoetry, in a show that brings together music and dance. Closing the night and the event will be Paulo Condessa and his performative poetry.

Also on Sunday, the awards ceremony for the 4th Edition of the Floral Games of the Ginásio Clube de Faro.
