Final year students, teachers and the director of the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School (EHTA) “rolled up their sleeves” to collect garbage in an area near the Ria Formosa, in Faro, last Thursday, November 9th.

In all, 23 bags of 120 liters of waste were collected, including unsorted garbage (10 bags), plastic (nine bags) and glass (four bags).

This environmental collection, promoted within the scope of the “Global Action Days” project, focused on an area of
route of the EHTA fortnightly Eco-walks, between the back of the Hotel Eva and the end of the Maritime Police shipyards.

«The participants, armed with gloves and bags with the color corresponding to the collection they were going to make, divided into groups, defined areas of action and, under the accomplice eyes of those who passed by on foot or by bicycle, gave their best to a common good”, described the EHTA.

In the end, “the feeling of accomplishment” was left, but also the awareness “that it is imperative to do more and better”.
