Portimonense beat Tondela 2-0, in a game counting for the 12th round of the I League, played this Sunday, 25 November. Two goals from Nakajima gave victory to the Algarve, who already have 15 points in the competition.
Before the start of the match, the Portimonense players entered the field with jerseys that read “See you always, Alfarroba”, in a tribute to the recently deceased Portimão team wardrobe.
Throughout the first half, Portimonense was superior and managed to dominate Tondela's team, which didn't bother goalkeeper Ricardo Ferreira.
On minute 18, Vítor Oliveira's men could have scored the first goal of the match, but Rúben Fernandes headed wide, after a corner hit by Paulinho.
The goal would eventually come, thanks to Nakajima. At 30 minutes, the Japanese ninja shot, at the entrance of the area, for a great goal. The ball entered, placed, next to the right post of Cláudio Ramos' goal. The goalkeeper still touched the ball, but he was unable to stop the tiro of Shoya.
Tondela, on the other hand, had the best opportunity in the first half in the 35th minute. Tomané shot over, with the ball still bouncing off Rúben Fernandes, in a move motivated by a missed pass by Hackman.
In the second half, Portimonense had less offensive flare. Even so, in the 60th minute, Lumor could have scored, taking advantage of a rebound inside the penalty area, but the ball went over the goal.
Tondela believed they could reach a draw and had a blatant goal opportunity in the 64th minute. Heliardo, practically with the goal at his mercy, shot, but Ricardo Ferreira made a great save.
They didn't draw Tondela, they increased the advantage for Portimonense. Nakajima (who else?) made it 2-0, in the 76th minute, giving the best response to a cross from Fabrício. The Japanese just had to pull over, after a good move by the Portimão team.
Until the end, Tondela still had the opportunity to reduce the disadvantage, but Ricardo Ferreira saved a shot, from the edge of the area, by Pité.
With this victory, Portimonense has 15 points in the I League and occupies, as a condition, the 8th place.
