António Bota is the new chairman of the Board of Directors of Resialentejo, the inter-municipal company responsible for the management and treatment system of urban waste in eight municipalities in the district of Beja.

This company is also in charge of managing a landfill for disposal and equipment for the treatment of urban and recyclable waste and an intercity kennel and cattery.

The results of the last municipal elections, in which the Socialist Party won the presidency of the majority of the Municipal Councils of Baixo Alentejo, led to Resialentejo having new decision makers.

Thus, António Bota, mayor of Almodôvar, assumes the presidency of this company, shared with Beja and Ourique, with the municipalities of Moura, Barrancos and Mértola in the General Assembly.

One of the major objectives of the new administration «is to remedy Resialentejo's financial problems, to modernize equipment, as well as to innovate services and practices to be implemented in municipalities, from solutions for the collection and treatment of common waste, to recyclables », says the Chamber of Almodôvar.

Resialentejo's economic and functional sustainability «is one of the most demanding tasks and one of the greatest challenges for the new president, considering that the company's success is also part of the success of the eight associated municipalities in terms of hygiene and public health». concludes.
