Ximo Tébar will close the 4th International Guitar Festival of Lagoa with a performance on October 22nd, at 17 pm, at the Municipal Auditorium.
In addition to the concert, there will also be a masterclass from guitar to jazz on the same day, but at 11:00 am, at the Convento de São José.
Acclaimed by international critics as one of the most innovative and progressive musicians in the current scene, Ximo Tébar has won, on several occasions, the award for best soloist in jazz, awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Spain (1988, 1989 and 1990).
In 2007, he won, in New York, an award from the “International Association for Jazz Education”.
“Soleo” is his new album, with which he celebrates 25 years of work, discography and research on the fusion between jazz and Mediterranean music.
Creator of the so-called “Som Mediterrânico”, a fusion of jazz and flamenco with a Mediterranean aroma, Tébar is «one of the most international Spanish musicians, with an impressive career, full of awards, excellent records and performances in the most prestigious festivals around the world» , according to the musician's press office.
