The young sailor Beatriz Cintra, from Clube Naval de Portimão, will be the Portuguese representative of the Optimist class, in the Renaissance Junior Gold Cup, an important international regatta held in Bermuda.

This 14-year-old female national children's champion in 2014 is the current holder of the national female youth runner-up title.

She participated in the last world championship, in Thailand, last July, and was chosen by APCIO – Portuguese Association of the Optimist International Class, to represent our country, in the Renaissance Re Junior Gold Cup, in Bermuda.

The 14-year-old athlete left today from Faro and will travel alone, on the itinerary Faro-Lisbon-London-Bermuda.

Then, between the 24th and 29th of October, it will defend the national colors, in the regatta field where the oldest and most famous sailing competition in the world is disputed, the America's Cup.

«The choice of this young sailor from Portimo for an invitational competition, worldwide, is an honor for the athlete, family, club and coaches. And the European City of Sport 2019 will not fail to count for Portimão's candidacy”, stresses the Clube Naval de Portimão.
