Photographers from different parts of Portugal, some of which have been awarded internationally, will capture images on the seabed, off Sagres, during the National Underwater Photography Championship, which takes place between 9 and 15 October in this town in the municipality of Vila do Bishop.

The best national underwater photographers, some of which future representatives of Portugal in European and world competitions, will "compete for the best photographic image of landscape, fauna and flora, in the waters of Sagres, known as the richest on the European coast", according to Vila do Bispo Chamber.

Divers/photographers will use scuba diving equipment, that is, using compressed air cylinders.

The general public will also have the opportunity to “peek” what is happening in the sea of ​​Sagres, in a presentation that will take place at Forte do Beliche, on the 15th of October, at 11:00 am. In the same session, the prizes will be delivered.

The National Underwater Photography Championship is organized by the Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities (FPAS) and by the PuraVida Divehouse diving center, with the support of the Vila do Bispo Chamber and local companies.
