The III seminar on “Towards an inclusive education: policies, practices and challenges” will be held on October 11th and 12th, in the green auditorium (building 8) of the Gambelas Campus.

The seminar aims to sensitize the community to the educational inclusion of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and raise awareness of quality approaches and practices within the scope of inclusion in Higher Education.

The opening session will be attended by António Branco, rector of the University of Algarve (UAlg), vice-rector Ana de Freitas, coordinator of GAENEE Maria Helena Martins, and president of the Academic Association of UAlg Rodrigo Teixeira.

The seminar also includes the participation of renowned experts, such as Pedro Dominguinhos, president of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, Paula Campos Pinto, professor at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP) -University of Lisbon and coordinator of the Disability and Rights Observatory Humans, Ana Maria Bénard da Costa, Ana Luísa Sesudo, president of the Portuguese Association for the Disabled, among others.

In addition, the program also includes a play by Sotão – ASMAL's Inclusive Group, entitled “Signos de Fora”, which will be presented at 17:00 on the 12th, at the UAlg's Grand Auditorium.

This initiative is organized by the Support Office for Students with Special Educational Needs (GAENEE) of the University of Algarve (UAlg).
