NOS will inaugurate the first 100% laser cinema complex in the Iberian Peninsula at the Mar Shopping mall in Loulé. The five rooms to open on the 26th of October will all feature laser projectors, with the installation of a room with a 240 m screen, «one of the biggest in the Algarve», and 4K projection, as well.
Some readers of Sul Informação will be able to experience this cinema complex first hand. And they can even choose between two of the films that will be presented in national premiere, on the 25th of October: “Amor de Improviso” and “Thor: Ragnarok”.
Those awarded with the invitations that the Sul Informação already distributed – the opening of Mar Shopping Algarve was postponed a month and, with it, the opening of new cinemas – you can choose between one of these two films.
NOS Cinema will offer 1100 seats, in what is the brand's third complex in the region – after those at Tavira Gran Plaza and Forum Algarve. Some of them, called love seats, are suitable for couples, as they allow you to raise the arms of the chairs for greater proximity.
According to NOS Cinema, the laser projection that the five rooms of its complex at Mar Shopping will rely on «guarantees greater brightness, definition and contrast, providing clarity and depth of image with unparalleled quality».
"This system, combined with Dolby Atmos sound technology, more immersive and realistic, translates into an amazing cinema experience," added the company.
This investment by NOS in the Algarve will create 20 jobs.
As for the films that will be shown on the 25th of October, the day before their national premiere, they appeal to different audiences.
“Amor de Improviso” is a romantic comedy that has been critically acclaimed as “the best of the year”, inspired by the life of Pakistani comedian Kumail Nanjuani and his current wife, Emily V. Gordon.
The movie “Thor: Ragnarok”, another episode of the series that has been revisiting the Marvel universe, is directed by Taika Waititi and has again as protagonists Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki). They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.
