Praia do Carvoeiro, in Lagoa, will once again be the stage for the underwater cleaning initiative “Let's Clean the Sea” tomorrow, the 23rd of September, from 10:00 am.
The sandy beach will be the center of operations for this initiative, which results from a partnership between Câmara de Lagoa and Portisub – Portimão's underwater club, which will include the participation of volunteers and diving clubs.
«The challenge is to act, more than to raise awareness. It is also taking those who already have good environmental practices to mobilize their community, their land. Once we know what to do for the environment in our homes, we need to know what to do in our communities. The initiative has the objective of involving everyone in the defense of the sea», framed the Câmara de Lagoa.
In this way, the entire population is invited to participate. Those who join can count on a t-shirt commemorating the event, to be distributed at the end of the activity.
The “Let's Clean the Sea” initiative has been developed for years by the Lagoon local authority and Portisub, as part of the European Blue Flag Campaign, which in 2017 has the theme “Your Planet is Your Earth”.
