Seven families from Lagoa received keys to their new homes in a ceremony that took place in Paços do Concelho, on Friday, 1st of September. The social housing fires were awarded to them by the Lagoon City Council, following a competition.
Six of the houses are located in the Municipal District of Porches, while the seventh is in the Municipal District Jacinto Correia, in Poço Partido. The houses, which according to the Lagoon municipality «have all been restored and equipped», have different types, namely T1, T2 and T3.
The seven families awarded with a new house were chosen from among 64 applications, «after assessing the living conditions, verified , the residences of the candidates admitted to the competition, the socioeconomic situation of the household, the location of employment and current residence and special situations», namely the existence of members of the household with illnesses or some type of disability, among others.
