Vila Real de Santo António and Ayamonte will host, between the 23rd and 28th of October, the II International Film Festival “Fronteiras”.

The initiative includes a diversified program, from short and feature films, documentaries, as well as workshops, conferences, exhibitions and music.

The objective is to promote cinematographic productions that address the theme “borders”: whether physical, emotional, geographic, sexual, religious, among others.

In the municipality of VRSA, activities will take place at Espaço Mariani – Casa da Cultura de Monte Gordo, at the Vicente Campinas Municipal Library, at the António Rosa Mendes Municipal Historical Archive and at the CA2 Room of the António Aleixo Cultural Centre. In Ayamonte, the exhibitions will be projected at Casa Grande.

«Having as its motto the cinematographic promotion, the festival also intends to increase the cultural dynamics in the lane that links Portugal and Spain, in the Algarve, promoting national and international authors with quality productions», explains the Vila Real de Santo António City Council.

In addition to allowing filmmakers to present their work, the event is also committed to training audiences, maintaining close contact with schools, clubs and associations.

The exhibition is organized by Associação Cultural Fronteiras and has the support of the municipalities of Vila Real de Santo António and Ayamonte, the AVA Foundation, the Junta de Andalucia and the Erasmus + Programme.
