The hearts of the clients of the hotel units that are members of the Algarve Hotels and Tourism Enterprises Association (AHETA) will become more secure, following a protocol signed between the business association, the Regional Health Administration (ARS) of the Algarve and the newly created Academic Center for Research and Biomedical Training of the Algarve (ABC).

Under this agreement, Automatic External Defibrillation equipment will be installed in hotels and tourist developments in the Algarve, and "continuous training in basic life support" will be provided to employees of the units using this tool.

Basically, the objective of the “Algarve Coração Seguro” project is “to establish cooperation actions in the field of health and health tourism, through the creation of a basic life support network”, according to AHETA.

For the association, this project «is a competitive and differentiating asset in relation to other competing destinations, and health services should be understood as an appreciation of the competitive position of our tourist destination».

«The agreement is part of a strategy to develop and improve the quality of all health and well-being tourism products in the Algarve region, through the creation of a network of active partnerships between the various public and private institutions, namely between hotel establishments and regional health units”, concluded the business association.
