19 people were detained by the GNR for drug trafficking, at the BPM Festival, which took place last weekend at the Centro de Congressos do Arade, in Parchal, in the municipality of Lagoa.

In the operation carried out by the Territorial Detachment of Silves, "aimed at the festival's security and policing", 17 men and two women aged between 20 and 38 were arrested.

According to the GNR, "seven offenses for drug use were prepared" and 183 doses of cocaine, 27 doses of hashish, 55 grams of MDMA and 18,8 grams of amphetamines were seized.

During the operation, nine people were arrested for driving with alcohol and one for driving without a license.

Throughout the festival, the GNR committed a force of about 30 soldiers from different operational areas, including soldiers from the Transit Detachment of Faro and the Intervention Detachment of Faro.

The BPM Festival was divided between the municipalities of Lagoa and Portimão, in Praia da Rocha, in which case the jurisdiction belongs to the PSP.
