If the fairs came with warnings, the one for the Mediterranean Diet Fair could very well be «To enjoy with the keen senses». Tavira once again celebrates this national cultural heritage until Sunday, September 10th, with an event that includes gastronomy, but also the products that give it flavor and color, knowledge and traditions, without forgetting artistic expressions for various tastes.

Anyone visiting the historic center of Tavira on the days of the Mediterranean Diet Fair will quickly understand what is coming. The profusion of colors, often combined with smells and flavours, but also those that give life to handicrafts or the clothing of street artists, is perhaps one of the aspects that stands out the most.

Then is to choose among the many activities offered by the many entities involved in promoting this event, the annual event that celebrates the Portuguese Mediterranean Diet as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

In addition to exhibitors of the most varied types of products, visitors can count on musical shows (yesterday the headliners were Deolinda, today and tomorrow they will be Miguel Poveda and Raquel Tavares, respectively, on Sunday there is a concert by HMB and Capitão Fausto), gastronomy, street entertainment, cooking demonstrations, theater, activities for the youngest and even visits to the «unique» collection of fruit trees and grape varieties of the Algarve Regional Agriculture Directorate.
