The Algarve has the Best Tourism Region, the Best Three Star Hotel, the Best Hotel & Resort, the Best Beach Hotel and the Best Golf Course, according to the Publituris Portugal Travel Awards 2017, considered the best Oscars of Tourism. The winners that were announced last night, in a ceremony that took place in Óbidos.
In the category of Best Tourism Region, the Algarve won the award for the second year in a row, which made Desidério Silva, president of RTA, proud, making a point of thanking, on his Facebook, «to all those who contributed to this award as well. merited".
Among the nominees for the Best Three Star Hotel was the Dom José Beach Hotel, in Quarteira, which received the distinction.
Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa, in Lagoa, stood out in the category of Best Hotel & Resort, in the year it celebrates its 25th anniversary.
For the development, 2017 was «the best year ever in the history of the resort, which is currently practically completely renovated, after strong investments in improving the quality of its offer and facilities».
The Martinhal Sagres Beach Family Resort Hotel, in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, won the award for Best Beach Hotel, while the Onyria Palmares, in Lagos, stood out, for the sixth consecutive time, as the Best Golf Course.
In this initiative of the Publituris newspaper, which aims to distinguish the best agents in the tourism sector in Portugal, the Algarve region was represented with 20 nominations.
