The Rally Casinos do Algarve, to be held from the 17th to the 18th of November, in Monchique, Portimão and Lagos, will host the final of the “European Rally Trophy” (ERT).
This decision was taken by the International Automobile Federation (FIA). Thus, the winner of Rally Casinos do Algarve will be the new champion of the European Rally Trophy.
The ERT is a championship that is disputed by the various regions of Europe (Alpine, Balkans, Baltic, Benelux, Celtic, Central and Iberian).
The top three classifieds from each region are selected to compete, in a final competition, for the title of ERT winner. At the same time, the Rally Casinos do Algarve closes the National Rally Championship as usual, also scoring for the FPAK Asphalt Cup.
The race will then take place at Praia da Rocha, but the competitive part will take place on the asphalt floors of the western Algarve.
The rally was adapted to the demands of this unprecedented final. The first stage starts on Friday, November 17th, with a double pass through the sections of Marmelete and Serenada, and ends with a night special in the center of Lagos.
On Saturday, the competitors return to Serra de Monchique to compete in four more specials, in the morning, with a double pass through Monchique and Chilrão, followed by regrouping at Passeio Ribeirinho in Portimão.
For the end, the Fóia and Nave Redonda specials are reserved, with two passages each, totaling 155 timed kilometers in the 13 special tests. After two intense days, the consecration of the winners will take place at the Hotel Algarve Casino, in Praia da Rocha, at 19:30.
