About 1000 people from 40 different countries formed this Saturday, August 12th, a huge human message at Odeceixe beach to prevent oil exploration off the Portuguese coast.

The event was part of “Defend the Sacred: Envision a Global Alternative”, held in Tamera, which was joined by leaders of Standing Rock and Portuguese environmental movements. The aerial human image was designed by John Quigley of Spectral Q, filmed by Ludwig Schramm and a crew of Tamera.

“As oil companies press to begin oil exploration in April 2018, we have come together to honor water as the source of life, water as sacred, life as sacred, and the need to defend what is sacred », stress the organizers of the initiative.
